Shillong, September, 2025 - Compliance Kart Pvt. Ltd., in partnership with the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) and the Centre of Excellence for Natural Resource Management & Sustainable Livelihoods, has launched the Bamboo Forest Carbon Credit Project in Shillong.

The project leverages bamboo’s high carbon sequestration capacity to generate verified carbon credits, creating a sustainable revenue stream for local communities while fostering the growth of bamboo-based enterprises and livelihoods.

The launch was attended by community representatives from Khasi and Garo Hills, senior officials from MBDA and the Meghalaya State Bamboo Mission, and was chaired by Dr. Subhash Ashutosh, IFS (Retd.), with participation from Mr. Sachin Gavade, IFS, Executive Director, MBDA.

Compliance Kart is proud to be a partner in this initiative, which supports Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and advances community-led climate action.
