URJA – Regenerative Journey in Agriculture

The Uttar Pradesh Regenerative Journey in Agriculture (URJA) project applies regenerative land management practices across 50,000 ha of croplands in multiple districts in eastern Uttar Pradesh, under the SOCIALCARBON framework and SCM0005 methodology. By promoting reduced tillage, diversified cropping, optimized water and fertilizer use, residue management, and renewable energy integration, it aims to cut methane, nitrous oxide, and CO₂ emissions while improving soil carbon and farmer resilience. The first phase spans 5,000 ha, with projected reductions of ~37,05,000 tCO₂e over 20 years from 50k ha.
